Privacy Policy

This policy explains what nonprofitz.us collects and how we use it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• Listing submissions. When you use Get Listed we store your organization’s details, the links you give us, your name and your email. Once we approve a listing, everything except your name is shown publicly on the listing.
• Email list and Website Checkup. If you subscribe, or ask for your checkup report by email, we store your email address (and, for a checkup, the site you checked and its score). We only send what you asked for, every list email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.
• Messages and quote requests. When you use the Contact or Backup Crew forms we store your name, email, organization and message so we can reply.
• Donations. Gifts to Nonprofitz are processed by Zeffy in an embedded form. Zeffy collects your payment and contact details under its own privacy policy and sends your tax receipt; we receive your name, email and gift details from Zeffy to thank you and keep our records.
• Basic server logs. Our host keeps standard logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

We use what you send only to review listings, reply to you and run the site. We email you about your listing or request. We don’t sell your information or send marketing email unless you ask for it.

Cookies and outside services

Visitors don’t get tracking or advertising cookies. WordPress sets login cookies only for site administrators. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers and shares your IP address with them. The donation form loads from Zeffy and may set its own cookies. Links in the directory and Toolkit go to outside sites with their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

Listings stay up until the organization or we remove them. Messages are kept as long as needed to help you, then deleted.

Your choices

You can ask us to update or remove your listing or delete your messages at any time through our contact page.

Children

This site is for organizations and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
